We are currently looking for a Structures Project Engineer for bridge and public works projects to supervise, monitor and control on-site technical activities and administrative paperwork.
Responsibilities:

Provide job site administration and documentation.

Track submittals, RFC’s, equipment lists and contract change orders.

Update cost report.
-
Develop, update and maintain C.P.M. schedule.

Track quantities.
-
Track daily cost vs. project budget
-
Track project logs.
-
Preparation of extra work.

Assist project manager, superintendent and foreman with planning and supervision of work.

Maintain liaison with owner’s representatives to ensure it complies with the estimate.

Assist in resolving construction problems as required.

Assist superintendent and foreman with layout and other technical requirements.
-
Storm water protection plan. Preparation of work plans.
-
Layout drawings of formwork, falsework, and shoring in AutoCAD or Microstation.

Review and monitor accounts payable, subcontracts and time sheets.

Facilitate job site meetings.

Monitor safety requirements.

Worker protection.

Public safety.
Required Experience:
-
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.

Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills
-
Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost control, contract administration, scheduling, safety regulations and the ability to understand drawings and specifications.

Project Engineer License preferred.
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Structure Estimator for bridge and public works projects to take all necessary steps to prepare, complete and provide accurate estimates for assigned projects.
Responsibilities
-
Review proposal specifications, drawings, soils reports and existing site conditions to determine scope of work.
-
Review and prepare bid documentation required for submittal, i.e. special insurance, bonds, Minority goals, Good Faith Efforts, etc.

Attend Pre-Bid meetings
-
Coordinate pre-bid RFC's prior to specification cutoff date
-
Monitor post bid submission dates towards contract procurement
-
Assess subcontractor bid bonds over 500K and subcontractor prequalification
-
Coordinate scope of work with District/Divisions and Subcontractors.
-
Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
-
Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned.
-
Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate's figures.
-
Interface with owner, A/E and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.

Prepare budgets, subcontracts, purchase orders and assist in preliminary project schedules.
-
Follow awarded contracts as assigned. May include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits: procuring material, monitor progress, cost/budget, revenue, etc.

Ensure proper project handoff if taken over by another PM/Team
Requirements
-
Must have a minimum of a 4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience
-
Must have a minimum of 8-10 years of estimating experience in Bridge & Retaining wall structures, Culvert boxes, Pump stations, Concrete channels and misc. structures.

Strong background in writing, presentation, and computer skills required.

Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required.
